Have an impressive web page or on-line demo that shows your best work... we are going to send the employers to you, but it is up to you to impress them.
Video shooters in the least have a Vimeo account or similar
Still shooters list any of the various sites, but make sure it has free access
Make sure you list your support gear... ie: mic systems, jibs, etc. Put yourself in the shoes of the producer or assignment editor. Two shooters in the same area with essentially the same camera package, but one has better extra toys, who do you think gets the gig?
Be sure you enter your address either business or residence that you want distance to be measured from in search results. It will not be shared publicly, but it will be used for the distance from location for employer searches.
List any special skills and feel free to copy and paste a resume or credits into the appropriate field when registering
Be sure to list all of the camera packages that you own... still and video, alike.
Employers:
As most of you are probably format specific, the most important fields for you should be camera type and geographical location.
If you do not get the results you want... expand the miles settings from geographical location
You can enter either city or postal code
Do your due diligence as we make no claims about the shooters that list here... look at on-line demos which should be listed for you and scrutinize them heavily.
Be specific about what type of shooter skills you are looking for as well. From reality to EFP/ENG... listing shooters will tell you in their profiles what they have experience shooting.
If you are staffing multiple projects, create project specific bins to keep track of your shooters that you want to contact or to keep track of your favorites.
